UTF-8 AND NON-ENGLISH CHARACTER SETS

JavaScript is very light on support for internationalisation. As the comp.lang.javascript FAQ states in FAQ 2.10:

"There are but a few Internationalisation features in JavaScript. The various toString() methods are all implementation dependent, but tend to use either UK or US settings. Much more support is expected in future versions of JavaScript."

At present, Tipue JS supports only UTF-8 encoded Latin-based character sets.
