PS I've just discovered that my browser's spelling checker doesn't work in the message title. Is that a feature of the browser or of Howwl? I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 on Win XP.

![]() | I've now been thinking about this, and given that RSS isn't up to the job, I've now added email notifications. From stevep on Jan 12, 2010 Post 281 via Howwl ![]() |

![]() | Excellent. Thanks. Roger Post 244 via Howwl, in reply to Post 230 |
![]() | No plans for an external notification service at the moment. If such a thing were introduced, it would certainly take you to the conversation in question. :-) Your spell-checker should work in the message title. Is anyone else having this problem? ![]() | > No plans for an external notification service at the moment... OK. If you change your mind, you might consider using RSS as well or instead of email. Roger Post 185 via Howwl, in reply to Post 181 |
![]() | An RSS of your stream is on my to do list, but I wasn't planning anything by email. Post 189 via Howwl, in reply to Post 185 |
![]() | I've just started a new thread, "mispelings in titles going undettkted". Sorry for going all Nigel Molesworth. 8-) Roger Post 186 via Howwl, in reply to Post 181 |
![]() | I think that's a mistake. I find the most successful forums have e-mail notification and it keeps the pace going, rather than waiting for members to remember to go back and see what's happened. Post 208 via Howwl, in reply to Post 181 |
![]() | I agree with this. E-mail is a great way to be informed of updates/responses to posts in threads. Be good if this could be added. I monitor a number of forums and the one's that get most attention are the ones where I can get a notice of further posts. Post 209 via Howwl, in reply to Post 208 |
![]() | I don't mind which. I use RSS to keep track of Flickr groups I'm interested in and email for a couple of other forums. Of those two, I prefer the one that tells me what the message says without my having to log in. I can then decide whether to bother. With the other, I often find myself logging on and then thinking: "Oh, was that all?". 8-) Roger Post 211 via Howwl, in reply to Post 209 |
